1.If you think about non-verbal communication (high context communication) think about the rules that govern this processs. We all depend highly on what isnt spoken as we communicate with others. Take a close look at an interaction you've had recently and how you figured out the rules.
2. How do our cultural spaces affect our identities? By cultural spaces, I mean any physical environment that reflects cultural values. Examples of cultural spaces might be the market, the classroom, churches, homes, the museum, the street corner, etc.

vocalics- sounds, (not words) silence, pauses, rate, pitch and volume of speech
proxemics- space and distance. Remember the exercise we did? personal space, social space, public space? How things are arranged
Chronemics- time related. How time is used, how time is viewed
Kinesics- body language, posture, gestures, any way of "talking" with the body
Haptics- touch
Olfactics- related to the sense of smell. (we form opinions with our noses!)
Facial expression- cultural rules govern what we show on our faces.
Oculesics- Eye behavior;staring, blinking, winking,
Physical appearance- artifacts, costumes, body height, weight,
